EMT Job Description

Job Responsibilities
Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured.
Assess patient conditions, determine necessary medical treatments, and administer appropriate emergency procedures.
Operate emergency vehicles safely and in accordance with state laws and company policies.
Utilize medical equipment such as defibrillators, oxygen delivery systems, and suction devices effectively.
Collaborate with other emergency response teams, including paramedics, firefighters, and law enforcement.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient care reports and documentation.
Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of emergency vehicles and equipment.
Provide patient care in accordance with established medical protocols and company guidelines.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Educate and inform patients and their families about emergency medical procedures and care.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved EMT training program.
Current EMT certification as required by state regulations.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical stamina to perform strenuous duties, including lifting and moving patients.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary Range
