Job Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, and diagnostic results during patient encountersRecord physician and patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) system in real-timeEnsure patient information is complete, accurate, and organized in the EHRHelp medical professionals with patient orders, referrals, and chartingMaintain and update patient records, including those pertaining to prescription drugs, allergies, and medical history
- Coordinate with other medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely documentationFollow all privacy laws and patient confidentiality guidelinesAssist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and organizing medical records as neededWork closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
- Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a healthcare team

Salary Range
The salary for this position ranges from $15 to $20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the base hourly wage, there may be opportunities for overtime pay depending on the department's needs.
