Licensed Practical Nurse Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care, such as monitoring vital signs, treating wounds, and administering medications
• Assist patients with their everyday routines, such as bathing, nutrition, and movement
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records that reflect changes in health conditions and services provided
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to create and implement care plans
• Educate patients and their families about health issues, treatment options, and preventative care
• To keep the healthcare environment safe, ensure that infection control policies are followed
• Respond quickly to patient calls and medical crises
• Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies
• Assist physicians and registered nurses with medical operations

Job Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Completion of an accredited LPN program
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
• A minimum of two years' experience in clinical or healthcare settings is preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and basic nursing procedures
