Job Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of any age
- Blood samples should be accurately labeled and processed for laboratory analysis
- Maintain the right specimen collecting and handling protocols
- Ensure the patient's comfort and address any concerns during the blood draw procedure
- Provide patients with clear advice on how to prepare for tests and handle any pre-collection obligations
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces and adhere to infection control policies
- Maintain accurate patient records and monitor for potential adverse reactions during and after the surgery
- Assist with patient intake by validating demographic and medical information
- Handle equipment and supplies efficiently and keep an inventory of phlebotomy items
- Follow all safety standards, legal regulations, and regulatory recommendations for blood collection and handling
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of a phlebotomy training program or certification (e.g., from NHA, ASCP, or similar accrediting body)
- Valid phlebotomy certification is required [Adjust based on States regulations]
- Experience in phlebotomy or healthcare settings is an advantage
- Strong understanding of blood collection techniques and patient safety practices
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including children and elderly individuals
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of infection control procedures and safety standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines

Salary Range
The salary for this position typically ranges from $35,000 to $45,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
