Custodian Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and public areas regularly to ensure cleanliness and safety.

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, keeping all areas tidy and well-maintained.

• Remove trash and recycling daily and ensure proper disposal according to company protocols.

• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms and break areas.

• Dust and wipe down surfaces, fixtures, and furniture to maintain a clean environment.

• Monitor and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to management.

• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners safely and efficiently.

• Follow all health and safety regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Assist in setting up and breaking down areas for special events or meetings as needed.

• Maintain an organized supply closet and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods.

• Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment operation.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions closely.

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Salary Range
