Job Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meats, and other ingredientsMeasure and mix ingredients according to the recipes and specifications
- Prepare sauces, dressings, and other condiments as requested by the chef
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of prep stations and kitchen tools
- Assist with storing and labeling ingredients to guarantee freshness and compliance with health requirements
- Maintain inventory and alert the chef or kitchen manager of any shortfalls or required supplies
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols to guarantee safe food handling practices
- Help cooks and other kitchen personnel during peak hours by delivering prepared materials swiftly and efficiently
- Assist with dishwashing and other activities as needed to keep the kitchen flowing
- Stay organized and proactive, ensuring that prep work is completed ahead of time for busy service hours
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a kitchen setting is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to follow directions and recipes accurately
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot kitchen environment
- A passion for food and a willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field

Salary Range
The salary for this position ranges from $14 to $18 per hour, depending on experience and location.
