Food Runner Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Promptly deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.

• Assist servers in setting up tables with appropriate tableware, utensils, and napkins before service.

• Communicate effectively with kitchen and wait staff to prioritize and fulfill orders, including special requests and dietary requirements.

• Ensure food is served at the proper temperature and in accordance with safety standards.

• Respond to guest inquiries regarding menu items and ingredients, providing accurate information.

• Monitor tables to promptly clear used dishes and utensils, maintaining a clean dining environment.

• Support the wait staff by refilling beverages and addressing additional guest needs during service.

• Relay customer feedback to management and relevant staff to continuously improve service quality.

• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining experience for guests.

• Participate in pre-service meetings and training sessions to stay informed about menu changes and restaurant policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or restaurant management is a plus.

• Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred.

• Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety regulations.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.

• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting.

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry heavy trays of food.
