How long does it take to process payments to international contractors?
Paying international contractors with Gusto is much faster than most international payment services. Once you submit the payroll, your contractor typically receives the funds in 2–5 business days. We’ll also send them an email notifying them that their payment has been released. Additionally, contractors can login to their Gusto account to check the status of their payments.
What tax documents do I need to pay international contractors?
For most international contractor payments, your contractor will need to fill out either a W-8 BEN for individuals or W-8 BEN-E for a business. These forms are similar to a 1099, except they are for contractors located outside of the U.S. who are not U.S. residents or citizens.
