Gusto Spending Account Referral Program

Share your unique referral link and earn $40 when a coworker opens a Gusto Spending Account* and makes a qualifying direct deposit. Your coworker gets $20 too.

By participating in this Program, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

How It Works

1. Share your unique referral link with a coworker
2. Your coworker opens a new Gusto Spending Account using your link and completes all account opening requirements
3. Your coworker receives a Qualifying Direct Deposit of at least $100 within 45 days of account opening
4. You get $40 and your coworker gets $20 deposited into your respective Gusto Spending Accounts

You can share your link as much as you like, but the most you can earn is $200 (five successful referrals) per calendar year.

Definitions and Eligibility

"Referrer" means a current Gusto Spending Account holder who shares their unique referral link. Referrers must be Gusto Members in Good Standing whose employers use Gusto, have an existing Gusto Spending Account in Good Standing, and be at least 18 years old.

"Referred Friend" means a person on the Gusto platform who uses a Referrer's unique referral link to open a new Gusto Spending Account. Referred Friends must be Gusto Members in Good Standing whose employers use Gusto, have never previously applied for or held a Gusto Spending Account, use the Referrer's unique referral link to apply, be at least 18 years old and meet eligibility requirements for a Gusto Spending Account, complete all account opening requirements, and make a Qualifying Direct Deposit.

"Qualifying Direct Deposit" means a paycheck direct deposit into the Referred Friend’s Gusto Spending account from their employer that uses Gusto for payroll. The following do not qualify: transfers between personal accounts, peer-to-peer transfers (such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo), trial or verification deposits, mobile check deposits, cash deposits, and any deposit Gusto determines is not a legitimate payroll deposit.

"Good Standing" means (a) the participant's Gusto Spending Account is open, active, unrestricted, not flagged, and does not have a negative balance; and (b) the participant's Gusto Member account is active, in compliance with the Gusto Members Terms of Service, and not suspended, terminated, or flagged."Successful Referral" means a referral where (a) the Referred Friend uses the Referrer's unique referral link to apply; (b) the Referred Friend is approved for and opens a Gusto Spending Account; (c) the Referred Friend receives a Qualifying Direct Deposit within 45 days of account opening; and (d) both participants are in Good Standing at the time of reward payment.

Program Rules

Referrers may earn up to $200 in referral rewards (five Successful Referrals) per calendar year (January 1 through December 31). There is no limit on the number of Referred Friends who may receive rewards.

Rewards are deposited into the recipient's Gusto Spending Account, typically within 10 business days after all conditions are met. Rewards will not be paid by check, cash, or transfer to another account.

If a Referred Friend receives links from multiple Referrers, only the Referrer whose link was used to open the account is eligible, subject to the Referrer not having reached their annual cap. Referrers may not use their own link to open an account.

No Reward Will Be Paid If:

• The Referred Friend does not use the Referrer's unique link
• The Referred Friend is not approved or previously applied for or held a Gusto Spending Account
• The Referred Friend does not receive Qualifying Direct Deposit(s) of at least $100 within 45 days
• The Referrer has reached their five-referral annual cap
• Either participant is not in Good Standing at the time of reward payment
• Gusto determines the referral involved fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms

Privacy

Referrers will not receive information about whether a Referred Friend applied, was approved, or completed the qualifying activity. Referred Friends should be aware that payment of a reward may allow the Referrer to infer that the Referred Friend successfully opened an account.

Tax Considerations

Referral rewards may be taxable. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Gusto may report rewards to tax authorities and issue required tax forms where applicable. If you participate in other Gusto referral programs, consider the combined tax implications. Consult a tax professional with questions.

The Gusto Spending account is issued by nbkc bank, Member FDIC. Gusto is a payroll services company, not a bank. Banking services provided by nbkc bank, Member FDIC. Account eligibility is subject to approval by nbkc bank and governed by nbkc bank's terms and conditions.

Program Changes

Gusto may modify, suspend, or terminate this Program or its Terms at any time with or without notice. Gusto may terminate any participant's eligibility at any time, including for violation of these Terms or suspected fraud.

General

This Program is available only to eligible Gusto Members in the United States and cannot be combined with other offers unless expressly stated. These Terms incorporate by reference the Gusto Members Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any applicable nbkc bank account agreements. If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Disputes are resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions in the applicable Gusto terms of service.
