Job Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and instructional activities to students
- Provide one-on-one or small group support for students, including those with special needs, to help reinforce learning
- Supervise students during class activities, recess, lunch, and other school events
- Help students with assignments, projects, and homework, ensuring they stay on task and understand the material
- Manage classroom behavior and help maintain a positive, productive learning environment
- Assist with grading assignments, setting up classroom materials, and preparing educational resources
- Monitor student progress and report any concerns to the lead teacher
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges as needed
- Help students with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, if necessary
- Follow established school policies and guidelines to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- An Associate's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field is preferred
- Experience working with children in a classroom or educational setting is highly desirable
- Depending on the school district, certification or training in special education or paraprofessional support may be required
- You should be patient, empathetic, and capable of working effectively with students who have diverse learning needs

Salary Range
