Survey: Nearly Half of New Business Hires Are Hybrid or Remote Workers

A bar chart showing hybrid and remote hiring is on the rise among new businesses.

New businesses increased their hiring of remote and hybrid workers in 2022, according to Gusto’s latest survey of new businesses.

Gusto’s survey found that nearly half (48%) of all full-time employees hired were either hybrid or fully remote, compared to 35% in the previous year’s survey. This jump suggests that despite established businesses pushing for more employees to return to the office, new businesses are using remote and hybrid arrangements as a means of attracting employees.
