2024’s Economy Lays the Groundwork for a Steady 2025
By Nich Tremper
On Februray 16, 2022, Gusto sent a letter to Representative Daisy Morales in support of Florida HB 2037, which would provide technical assistance for minority-owned businesses.
Inequities exacerbated by the pandemic reinforced the need for meaningful action to elevate accountability, and tangible results around representation, inclusion, social impact, and equity (RISE). Gusto believes that a healthy small business ecosystem is one that is fair and inclusive for all businesses, including women- and minority-owned businesses, and reducing barriers for entrepreneurs is key to helping underserved communities. Gusto’s own research found that nearly half of all businesses started by women in the past year are minority-owned and were largely started out of economic need.
The letter expresses Gusto’s full support of HB 2037, which would provide funding for the Department of Economic Opportunity to help ensure that minority business owners have the support they need to succeed.
