Keila Hill-Trawick
Keila is the founder of Little Fish Accounting and focuses on helping small businesses thrive through her transparent, easy-to-understand approach to accounting. In addition to her full-time work with Little Fish, Keila is co-founder of Accountants of Color, a safe space for Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) accountants to engage, grow, and build their firms.

How much does ‘Live’ Certification cost?
‘Live’ Certification is a complimentary program from Gusto — but it’s only available to our partners.
How long does ‘Live’ Certification take?
‘Live’ Certification is a full day of training, including a morning session, lunch break (everyone gets a free $25 UberEats lunch credit), and afternoon session. Training typically runs from 9:00am to 2:30pm MST.
Who should participate?
Anyone who is interested in offering People Advisory services! By using payroll as an entry point for people advising, this training is a perfect introduction to strategic advisory conversations and how Gusto’s software can help.
How many people can attend?

Can you tell me more about the curriculum?
‘Live’ Certification is taught by industry-leading accountants, known for their approach to People Advisory. The training includes technical knowledge like payroll, benefits, and HR, plus interpersonal client communication skills. Expect role play scenarios, workshops, live questions, and more.
Here are the goals for the course:
- Deepen your understanding of payroll, benefits and HR so you can confidently advise clients and their employees.
- Gain fresh insights about Gusto’s people platform and how it delivers workflow efficiencies for your clients and your firm.
- Practice taking a people-focused approach to client conversations that support them in creating great places to work.
How is this different from the self-paced program?
‘Live’ Certification offers a social learning experience led by a live, dedicated coach. It covers many of the same topics, but helps you engage with the material by practicing communication strategies and new skills in real time.
Bonus: you get access to the self-paced program if you want to revisit or refresh your skills at any time.
Do I get CPE credits?
Absolutely. You get CPE credits for attending the full session. Fields of study are (5.0) Management Services.
CPE credits are issued within 7 business days of the training. Partial credit is not awarded.
Gusto is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. How often is ‘Live’ Certification available?
‘Live’ Certification will be offered on a monthly basis, typically the third Thursday of the month. You can register for a specific month by clicking on the course in Gusto Learn, through your Gusto Pro account.
