The Pursuit of Employee Happiness

The Pursuit of Employee Happiness

From to-do list apps to fitness monitors to sleep trackers, we have many ways to measure almost every aspect of our daily lives. Yet when it comes to the less tangible stuff – emotional well-being rather than physical health, passion and belonging instead of productivity – tracking tools can fall short.

Did you know that happy employees outperform the competition by 20 percent? To take their teams to the next level, business owners and HR admins should regularly solicit honest feedback and put that information to good use. But consistently asking for feedback, collecting themes, and analyzing the data takes a lot of work, which most small businesses don’t have time to do.

That’s why our team is launching a new tool to help people do exactly that: Employee Happiness Surveys.

With this new HR feature, Gusto sends out monthly, two-click employee happiness surveys, then presents an analysis of results and trends back to companies. There’s no need to create a survey from scratch or figure out how to collect feedback – Gusto takes care of gathering insights automatically on a regular basis.

Feedback in a single click

Through automated monthly emails, team members anonymously answer a simple question on how happy they’re feeling, selecting from a range of faces that look “Very Unhappy” to “Very Happy.”

Detailed Insights

Employees can elaborate by adding tags and comments to their responses that provide additional reasoning.

Receive visual feedback

Feedback is aggregated and displayed on an intuitive dashboard. Employers can then see a breakdown of responses and comments according to how individuals voted, plus look at changes over time.

Gusto’s mission is to create a world where work empowers a better life. By offering employees a simple way to express themselves and employers an easy way to listen to them, we hope people can create the changes they want to see at their companies.
