Location. The Carlton on Madison Avenue is located in New York City, N.Y., four blocks south of the Empire State Building. A circumference of nearly 200 miles can be seen from the Empire State Building’s highest observation tower on a very clear day. Madison Square Garden and Penn Station are five blocks from the hotel. Times Square and Radio City Music Hall are within one mile. Central Park is less than two miles away. The hotel is located between the Murray Hill and Gramercy Park neighborhoods.
Hotel Features. A three story lobby waterfall cascades over a photo of the original 1904 hotel while sun streams across the mosaic tiled floor from the 30 foot, Tiffany style domed skylight. The Carlton on Madison Avenue offers coffee and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Country, the hotel’s formal dinner restaurant, serves seasonal French American cuisine complements of notable New York chef/restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian. The Champagne Lounge serves small plates and champagne cocktails. A total of 6,000 square feet of function space accommodates events. This New York City hotel was built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated in 2005 by renowned architect David Rockwell.

Expert Tip. During renovations, workers uncovered an authentic Tiffany dome that had been walled from view. The dome has now been restored to reflect its full glory, and is showcased in the hotel’s restaurant.
