Location. The Marriott San Francisco stands south of Market Street opposite the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Metreon Center in San Francisco, Calif. Powell Street transportation via the BART light rail system or via cable car is located within one block of the hotel. The Moscone Convention Center and the Museum of Modern Art are also positioned one block away.
Hotel Features. On site dining options include The Fourth Street Bar & Deli that serves casual American cuisine. The Garden Terrace highlights California style dishes. Bin 55 prepares continental fare. The View bar affords 39th floor panoramic views and serves light snacks and cocktails. The business center houses four computer stations and offers print, fax and photocopy services. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee in the hotel lobby. A Nice convention Hotel

"My husband and I stayed here 4/27 - 5/4/07. We had a nice, big corner room and were very pleased with it (though wish it had had a room safe). I was traveling for work and my conference was in the hotel. For the most part, it's very nice meeting space, but the rooms on the 4th and 5th floor are awkward and hard to find, but staff were plentiful and more than happy to help. I had two free days and we rented cars for just one day at a time (to avoid the $50/night parking the hotel charges). Hertz has a desk right in the hotel and makes everything VERY easy. If you rent a car, you can return it to the valet staff (who were all awesome!) and they take care of the rest. I think there may have been a small extra fee for that ($10) but it was totally worth it. The front desk staff wasn't as impressive. First, after being told we could return the car easily, the front desk said that Hertz was closed and we'd have to pay the $50 parking fee and return the car the next day (SO SO glad our helpful bellman was more educated about how much the valets could help!) Then, as I was starting to get undressed for bed and my husband went back downstairs to deal with the car situation, a strange man unlocked the door and walked right in. The front desk had just checked him into the same room. Luckily he was nice and left his keys and went back downstairs, but it was still scary and the front desk didn't seem to take it seriously. After that, I wanted all keys de-activated and new ones made, but I did still have some trouble with the keys over the next few days. Despite that rough check-in experience, the rest of the stay really was nice. The lobby and starbucks area is very nice. The convention area is convenient, but regular travelers don't have to deal with the convention stuff and all. The vast majority of the staff is great. I would stay there again! Oh yeah, generally the location is great.... right off a major street (Market) and near great shopping and easy walks to China Town or the Embarcadero and other great spots. There were a lot of beggars around though, and some really sketchy areas not too far either. Just know what you are getting into before you wonder out aimlessly. Also, the one-way streets make it very hard to drive around right there and to get to the porte-cochere. "
